Final Project
1.Judgment
We drew the Tarot card “Judgment.” We looked up the information: in Tarot, “Judgment” is the 20th card in the Major Arcana, symbolizing awakening, rebirth, judgment, and reflection. Keywords: rebirth, inner awakening, reviewing the past, redemption, final decision, reflection, and progress. These keywords sparked our thinking.
Synopsis: A girl falls in love online, but she is arranged to have a bad blind date, so she decides to meet the person in person...
2. Pre-production and planning
I drew storyboard sketches, wrote visual proposals, and prepared production lists for each planned shot. We wrote a story breakdown, then drew storyboards for each shot and created tables to organize the types and actions of each shot. We searched for special effects and music on YouTube.
Story plot 1 (Act 1)In a classroom, the heroine happily chats with her online lover
Story plot 2 (Inciting Incident 1)She thought back to the bad blind date she had a few days ago.
Story plot 3 (Act 2)She didn't remember what her blind date looked like, she only remembered that he sat opposite her and said sarcastic words to her.
Story plot 4 (Act 2-Midpoint)At the end of the recollection, she looked a little melancholy.
Story plot 5 (Act 2-Climax)Just then, news came from her blind date and she decided to meet him in person.
Story plot 6 (Inciting Incident 2)On the day of meeting in person, she was very flustered and waited for her love on the rooftop.
Story plot 7 (Act 3)While she was still rambling, a hand came up on her shoulder. It was actually a girl .......!
3. Production
Before shooting, we planned how to shoot, what to shoot, and the order of shooting, and made a series of preparations. We wanted to find an empty classroom with good lighting to shoot in, but it took us a long time to find a classroom that was not being used for classes. Since it was my first time performing, it was not easy to control my facial expressions, and we had to reshoot some scenes several times. Fortunately, we were able to finish shooting on that day.
4.Video editing
We first edited the raw footage to establish the general structure and narrative flow of the video. This initial phase allowed us to trim unnecessary parts, arrange the scenes in a logical order, and ensure the pacing aligned with our intended mood and message. Once the rough cut was completed, we began researching special effects online, looking for visual elements that could enhance the atmosphere, emphasize key moments, or support the overall aesthetic style of the video.
After gathering a range of visual effects resources and references, we transitioned into the post-production stage, where we focused on integrating these effects seamlessly into the footage. This included adding motion graphics, adjusting color grading, applying transitions, and fine-tuning visual elements to achieve a polished, professional final product. Throughout this process, we paid close attention to detail to ensure that the special effects not only elevated the visual appeal but also supported the storytelling without overpowering the original content.
5.Special Effects
After editing the video and adding sound effects, we began editing special effects. We first learned how to create such special effects before adding them.

6.Reflection
During the filming of this video, we went through the entire process from pre-production to post-production. The project not only strengthened our teamwork skills but also deepened our understanding of the video production process.
In the pre-production phase, we conducted detailed task allocation and shooting planning, including set design, scriptwriting, and equipment preparation. During actual filming, although we encountered some unforeseen circumstances (such as changes in lighting, background noise, and unstable actor performance), we successfully completed the main shooting tasks through on-site adjustments and communication.
During filming, we experimented with different cinematographic techniques, such as tracking shots, pans, and close-ups, to enhance the visual impact of the footage. We also paid attention to composition, lighting, and color coordination to ensure the visuals were aesthetically pleasing.
In the post-production phase, we first conducted a rough cut to establish the overall rhythm and logical structure of the video. We then added transitions, subtitles, and special effects, particularly experimenting extensively with visual atmosphere creation. While there is room for improvement in special effects processing, the overall completion level has reached the expected effect.
This video production not only enhanced our operational skills and creative expression capabilities but also deepened our understanding of the complex and meticulous production process behind film and television works. In the future, we aim to continuously improve in technical, artistic, and expressive dimensions to create more mature and influential works.
