REFLECTION

Experience

Since this is my first semester at BDCM, a lot of things are new to me, and typography is my most time-consuming module. Each project has allowed me to learn about , and by completing the assignments, I have been able to improve my skills and learning experiences and apply them to my work to develop and improve the quality of my assignments. By summarizing and reflecting each week, I am able to improve step by step. The professor was very supportive of having our own unique style and improving myself a little bit by giving feedback after each assignment to improve my design. Overall, this module allowed me to learn a variety of things about typography and I enjoyed every learning opportunity throughout the week. I am glad that I was able to learn useful things about typography and I hope to be able to use my knowledge in future activities.

Observations

Details are an important presence in design. Key points that developed mid-week I learned that every detail applied to each element works in concert to create harmony in the overall outcome of my design. Each design may spark other inspirations, which allows me to continually improve through the details.

Findings

The fact that the professor made us put the process up in detail for each assignment is an indication that the process is important as well. Design should not only focus on the result but also on the process. And I think that the knowledge base of typography is also very important, before I took this class I didn't have the habit of reading more, but after this semester's study it also added to my knowledge base.
