Final reflection

1.What have l learnt in this module?

I learnt about the design principles of Contrast, Balance, Emphasis

I learnt the definitions of Contrast, Balance, Emphasis, Rules of Third, Repetition/Pattern/Rhythm, Movement, Hierarchy, Alignment, Harmony, Unity, Proportion and got a deeper understanding of the meaning of these design principles by looking for diagrams.

2.What did l enjoy the most?

My favourite part was the diagram finding process in task 1, I got to see a lot of really nice pictures and analyse what design principles the diagram contained.

3.What did l not enjoy the most?

My least favourite would have to be the favourite diagram found in task 2 in drawing three sketches with other ideas, because I thought that diagram was already pretty so the need to draw three other ideas made me rack my brain.

4.What have l learnt about myself through this module?

Through this module, I learnt how to arrange the layout of headings wisely, whether it is harmonious in terms of colour, and I learnt the basic principles of design principles more clearly.

5.What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?

Before the drawing was all about how I wanted to draw, the professor had us find a diagram to use as a reference and I became more systematic about designing new pieces. What hasn't changed: I'm still not very skilled at colour matching, and typography.

6.What are my aspirations?

I would like to further improve my design in terms of aesthetics, typography, and colour harmony, and I hope to get more inspired by looking at other people's work, rather than spending long designs thinking about it.
